The people of Mediterranean coasts are usually carefree, laid-back, relaxed, riding their scooters up and down, saying chao. In contrast, the United States is generally a "more unrelaxed" society, and in New York, they say, people never smile. Well, this photo was taken in Brooklyn. I guess, Brooklyn is cool!

In 1946, George Orwell bitched about the decay and re-purposing of language in his essay titled Politics and the English Language. In his view, language had become stale in it's imagery and very imprecise. He postulated that "clear language" was evaded because of the insincerity gap between one's real and declared aims: "If thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought". And he was not very fond of Political Language: "...is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind".
