Texting In the Shadows

People live in their smartphones. In fact, according to a recent Pew survey, "46% of smartphone owners say their smartphone is something 'they couldn't live without'". To may users, the cost of owning a smartphone continues to be "too expensive".

Researchers have begun to look at whether or not we are becoming "enslaved by technology". The answer to me is an obvious YES. People are losing their ability for healthy human to human interactions and we are quickly treading towards the unknown, as far as technologies real effects on human psychology are concerned. We are disconnecting ourselves from the physical world and the environment. All of this is bound to have consequences. "Filter bubbles" on the Internet is bad enough, and now with cell-phones, diversity of interaction is vanishing. I'll likely be proven right in a matter of few years. Wait for it...
