In institutionalized religion, the role of the preacher is to satiate the congregation with preordained teachings. In mystical traditions, the commune is to awaken the thirst for The Truth. One satisfies, the other conjures hunger. One says, "this is the Truth", the other says, "The Truth is layered and has to be discovered within".

The same applies to all forms of education. A good teacher is not one who provides conventional answers. A good teacher guides the student to discover and yearn for relevant understanding.
