A common rule in composition is to leave space in front of a moving subject so that the audience completes the motion in their imagination.

I personally like this image because it does the opposite; It creates a little stress on the audience by having them guess whether the rally car is first going to leave the frame to the right or proceed to the empty space in front of it. It actually proceeded after sliding a little more to the right.
