Since when did having an opinion on all but the most trivial subjects become politically incorrect? It seems nobody can distinguish between whining and social commentary any longer. Almost no one is interested in discussing anything that matters - they're only interested in themselves and only furthering their own interests. There is widespread assumption that understanding and commenting on the status quo is a waste of time that detracts from their own progress. Well that assumption is falling apart and some people are realizing that you can not outrun a corrupt social system. Overall ignorance has a personal cost.

It's difficult to ascertain how much of this has to do with technology - with the Internet and cell phones. But this new weird epidemic of political correctness, apathy and narcissism seems to have erupted simultaneously with personal digital communication technology. Any comments?
