The rally version of that, at least for last weekends International Rally New York 2011 event was, seventeen cars ride out and only seven ride back. This was shot during Stage 1, right after team Anthony Burden and Ben Nadeau hit a muddy spot coming out of a turn and broke the rear axle of their Jetta. Gravel rallies are tough. By the end of Stage 4, four cars were out of the race, including the top two seeded cars.
