The New York City skyline is ever-changing. This view from 2009 has already changed. Change is inevitable. A thousand years sounds like a long time, but in the context of world history it is just a blink. A thousand years ago America was not yet discovered. The world population was 400 million compared to 7 billion today. Europe was in Dark Ages. China, the Islamic world, Mayan civilization and West African kingdoms were flourishing, whereas Europe was in conflict. The world looked very different. If we do make it without destroying ourselves for another 1000 or 10,000 years, the world will predictably be a different place. New York City may or may not have a skyline...
