At 1250 ft, The Empire State Building was the tallest in the world between 1931 and 1972. This 102 story landmark skyscraper was portrayed in the 1933 film "King Kong" and survived a 1945 plane crash. The building has seen over 30 suicides, including the one dubbed, The Most Beautiful Suicide. This view is from Long Island City, Queens.
