Freemasonry is a fraternal organisation which exists in various forms all over the world, with an estimated six million members. Benjamin Franklin was a freemason, as well as a number of other Founding Fathers. Although the origins and early development of Freemasonry is somewhat obscure, the oldest known Masonic text is the Regius Poem from the 14th century, which outlines fifteen articles for the master concerning moral behavior and the operational management of work. Things like, do not harbour thieves, do not take bribes, attend church regularly, do not make your masons labor at night, teach apprentices properly, do not take on jobs that you cannot do etc. Throughout its history, Freemasonry has been the target of conspiracy theorists and organized religions. I guess, if you hide something, someone will always be there wondering what you are hiding.
