Shit happened and I had to give a two week break. Shit will happen again simply because shit just happens.

The order in which shit happens, matters. Having lost a loved one, and then finding the love of your life is not the same as finding love and then losing it. Having lost a million dollars and then making it back is not the same as having made a million dollars and then losing it. The most recent state matters.

Shit happening is not a zero-sum-game. Sometimes, when shit happens, it's devastating and impossible to recover from. At other times, you become stronger only because some shit happened. Most of the time, shit only happens because you allowed it to happen and the long term outcome is determined by your state of mind.
