According to a story that ran in the The Washington Post a couple of days ago, "7 percent of American adults, i.e. 16.4 million people, think that chocolate milk comes from brown cows". Another number cited in the article was "1 in 5 adults did not know that hamburgers are made from beef". In the next survey, I would suggest asking whether people think skim milk comes from skinny cows.

In 2017, The Washington Post adopted the slogan "Democracy Dies in Darkness". No Mr. Bezos, democracy dies when rapacious billionaires buy newspapers to further marginalize the people.
